Dell $DELL ( ▲ 3.05% ) is climbing this morning after CEO and founder Michael Dell and his wife, Susan, announced a massive $6.25 billion donation to fund $250 investment accounts for 25 million American children. These accounts are meant for older kids who are not eligible for the government-funded “Trump accounts” created under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which provides $1,000 to every child born from 2024 through 2028.
The news broke around 7:40 a.m. ET, but the stock really took off after President Trump posted a glowing message on Truth Social praising the Dell family and the company. The move underscores how headline-driven goodwill can ripple into markets, especially when it intersects with national policy and one of the most recognizable names in tech.
Good deeds may be their own reward, but this one is giving Dell shareholders a pretty nice morning bump too.
