Meta $META ( ▲ 0.32% ) has reportedly hired Alan Dye, Apple’s longtime head of user interface design, according to Bloomberg. Dye has led Apple’s UI design since 2015 and becomes one of the most high-profile design departures as Apple tries to regain momentum in the AI race.
Bloomberg reports that Dye will run a new design lab inside Meta focused on bringing AI deeper into the company’s hardware, software, and interface experiences. The move adds to a recent string of major leadership shifts at Apple $AAPL ( ▼ 0.3% ) as the company works to catch up after its slow entry into the AI boom.
Apple shares slipped slightly in late trading.
